Initial Training Assessment

What is a Training Assessment?

An initial training assessment is where the vast majority of clients start their training with Steve. Following on from that session, you will be invited to order additional 121s if required, offered a training course, or invited onto our regular gundog training groups. At the end of the initial session you will have a number of things for you to work on towards your training goals.

What Does the Session Include?

• Assessment of Your Dog: Steve will observe your dog’s temperament, behavior, and current skill level to identify areas that need improvement or development.
• Discussion of Your Goals: You’ll have the chance to outline your objectives, whether it’s improving recall, mastering steadiness, or tackling specific challenges like lead pulling or excessive barking.
• Tailored Training Plan: Steve will provide expert advice and demonstrate techniques suited to your dog’s needs, ensuring you leave the session with a clear plan of action.
• Practical Training: Hands-on exercises will help you and your dog work together on key skills, with Steve guiding you step by step.
• Q&A Time: Got questions about training methods, tools, or next steps? This is your chance to ask and receive tailored advice.
